Am searching for older, moll/owner of restaurant, posters to decorate. Would you know specifically, he is adamant about antique-style posters of Venetia and Lake Como. Would you certain location. He has been very helpful and would like to help back.

Can You Identify The Style Of Antique Furniture From A Description Of The Back And Legs Of The Chairs?

I have a corresponding antique dining set and I want to identify the style/period of the furniture. The back of the chairs is similar to Queen dowager Anne however, the legs are turned and straight (plumb from the corner of the seat to the lowest level) not carved or cabriolet. There is a lot of detail in the turning (wide, narrow, beads above globe and urn shapes with concave cutouts tournament vertically to the leg). The top of the legs are square as is the point where the cross bracing attaches to the leg. Repentant I am not familiar with antique terminology. Can anyone identify this style (I can provide photos) or point me to an easy to use visual relevance?

My mom recently told me that the couple bed that I have is an antique. I don't know squat about antiques so, I don't know what style I have to know how to describe it. any help. besides the library or shire antiques dealers they don't do appraisals in my area. thanks

Can you stick a picture of it?
You could check the back of the headboard and the inside of the side rails to see if there is anything to identify the manufacturer or craftsman's name. It may even have an filler number imprinted. It would at least help you to do some research. Or take a picture and send it to a affairs to help you at least identify the style or period even if they don't do the appraisal. An antique would be 100 years old..

I'm Machiavellian a custom case and needs some ideas and suggestions to make a really sparse wall mounted display case - any comments would be great

I would escape wood with an odor (oak) as it will permeate your cards. I like the idea of a walnut. Perchance a green felt backdrop inside. Also make sure that you get glass that will cover the cards from fading.

Our familiar with has 5 acres and a pole barn and my mother-in-law keeps telling me to fill it with antiques. I DO NOT have a yen for to live in a museum but I understand that I cannot turn a farmhouse into something modern. But how do I find a comfortable homey residue between the two without purging tons of money on an interior decorator or designer?

I betrothed antiques,some wonderful creations from another time.

I tend to side with your mother-in-law 60% and you 40%.Using antiques one must call to mind not to over do,they are wonderful theme pieces.Since you have a poll barn I would set asside an area for the ones not reach-me-down and keep buying them.

I am an absolute nut for them and extremly biased (can you tell?).I wished I had your problem,I would have a hey day.
