What Stain Colors Are Typical For Mission Style Furniture, Especially A Stair Railing?

Only just installed new stair railing. It is mission style, with 1-3/4" square balusters, and pretty box newels. Are there certain stain colors that are more typical for this style? We're using Old Masters wiping blot. Here are their colors:

I've heard there is such thing as a "leading Mission color", but I have no idea what that is.


The archetypal Mission color is dark staining,like deep red or chocolate brown. Plain-spoken Lloyd Wright was considered the father of Mission style decorating.

How Would You Describe Mission-style Furniture?

I identify what it looks like. Is it considered kinda 'country', or what? Is it always made from oak?

Most of the once in a while it is oak. I guess what really desribes mission style furniture, or the fine lines not curves and inlays and yes it could be described more on the mountains look its simple but interesting

someone de rigueur me if im wrong but to my knowledge, mission is very vertical and very straight. the overall look is quite identical ....dark wood usually but not always ... dont know about a&c pitiable
