Huskies ready to open Pac-10 play against Oregon State
31.12.09
Washington starts Pac-10 play Thursday with an singular label on it: defending champions.
Starting Thursday night at 7 against Oregon State (6-5), the 17th-ranked Huskies are no longer an unfamiliar. Not a possible contender. They have evolved into the hunted thanks to last season's title and this time's ranking.
The defense begins against the funky approach of under-achieving Oregon Magnificence. Head man Craig Robinson brought a Princeton-style offense to the program, in which the Beavers back-cut and off their big men to the top of the key. It's a system the Huskies dismantled twice last season.
